Shisha in Leicester Square
Charcoal grill restaurant and bar with an outdoor terrace, two minutes from Leicester Square Underground station.
Ember at Horizons sits at the heart of London's West End, a few steps from Leicester Square Underground station. The restaurant occupies the ground floor of Horizons Casino at Queens House, 1 Leicester Place, with an outdoor terrace overlooking the square. The space combines a charcoal grill kitchen, a cocktail bar, and an open-air terrace where shisha is part of the offering.
The brief is straightforward: somewhere comfortable to spend an evening in central London, with charcoal-grilled food, a full bar, and a covered outdoor space that stays open late into the night — whether you've come from a show, a meeting, or a long day in the West End.
The Terrace
Shisha is served on Ember's outdoor terrace, alongside the full food and drinks menu rather than at a separate bar — a relaxed space designed for long evenings, with enough room between tables for groups to settle in without overhearing the next conversation. See our dedicated terrace page for more on the space itself — one of the largest and latest-closing terraces in Leicester Square.
Food and Drinks
The kitchen is a charcoal grill, with sharing platters, kebabs, and à la carte mains. See the full food menu for the current selection, including the lunch menu and pre-theatre menu. Cocktails, wines, beers, and a full soft-drink list are served throughout the day.
Most groups order a sharing platter from the grill, a round of cocktails, and a slow evening on the terrace. The pre-theatre menu is a popular option for nearby West End audiences looking to eat before a show, with two- and three-course pricing that sits noticeably below typical Leicester Square rates.
Location
Ember is at Queens House, 1 Leicester Place, London WC2H 7BP — a two-minute walk from Leicester Square Underground station via the north exit. Charing Cross and Piccadilly Circus are both around ten minutes on foot. The venue sits among the cinemas and theatres of the West End, so it's a natural stop before or after a show, and well-connected to the rest of central London by tube, bus, or taxi.
See our contact page for a map, full opening hours, and direct contact details.
Open Late
Ember is open daily from 12pm. The kitchen serves until 2am with last orders at 1:30am. The terrace stays open until 1am and the bar until 3am. Weeknights tend to be quieter and well suited to dinner without booking; weekends and post-theatre evenings are busier.
Book a Table
Tables are walk-in friendly during quieter times, but the terrace is the busiest part of the venue and books up on most Friday and Saturday evenings. Booking ahead is recommended, especially for groups of four or more.
